The Eagle Academy Foundation Professional Development Institute, “Saving Our Sons 2010: Building Community and Defying Expectations” will be held on July 7-10, at Scholastic headquarters in New York City. The Insitute will address the issues educators face in a fight to provide leadership and education to young men of color.
The keynote speech by Dr. Howard Fuller (formerly of Milwaukee Public Schools), will be held on the morning of July 8th, and following the speech, the audience will be divided into groups of 15-25 people to discuss questions raised by it. The Foundation is seeking 15 graduate education students to act as notetakers and facilitators for these groups, for approximately 1.5 hours. Students will be comped attendance at the entire conference (a $400 value) as guests.
