On October 15th, Dr. Vincent C. Alfonso, Ph.D. (Associate Dean and Professor, GSE) presented “Assessments of Young Children: Special Considerations For Diverse And Underserved Populations” at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine Department of Psychology’s Rovinsky Family Lecture Series. The recorded presentation may be viewed by clicking here.
Additionally, Dean Alfonso’s new book, “Essentials of Specific Learning Disability Identification” was released this November by Wiley Publications. Written with Dawn P. Flanagan, Ph.D. of St. John’s University, the book is part of Wiley’s Essentials of Psychological Assessment series. It provides an overview examining the definitions and classification systems of- and methods for- identification of specific learning disabilities (SLDs), with a focus on descriptive efforts of the manifestations of SLDs in the academically critical areas of reading, writing, math, oral expression, and listening comprehension.
Congratulations, Dean Alfonso!
