Patricia Eckardt (current Ph.D. student in the Language, Literacy & Learning doctoral program at GSE) is on the founding board for a new school set to open in 2012. The North Fork Community School’s mission will be to nurture children’s natural curiosity, imagination and inclination for creativity and play; and to integrate the land, environment and community through the unique landscape of the North Fork of Long Island.
