Alumni Notes: GoodTherapy From Sarah Noel, "Toxic Friends"

GSE Alum Sarah Noel [FCRH’ 02 (Psychology), GSE ’05 (Mental Health Counseling)] is a licensed Mental Health Professional working with teens and adults, as well as Person-Centered Topic Expert publishing monthly online articles for GoodTherapy.org.
In her most recent article, Toxic Friends:  Is It Time for a Breakup?”, she outlines strategies for evaluating toxic friendships and confronting your toxic friend:

“Toxic friends come in many forms- they can take much more then they add to the friendship; they can be a chronic complainer; they can tear you down- but the bottom line is that when you walk from away from time spent with a toxic friend, you probably feel worse for the wear…While it might be easy to identify the toxic friends in your life, it is often difficult, and sometimes painful, to decide what to do about them and even more difficult to actually do it.”
