Fall Online Information Sessions: Teacher Education & Counseling and Psychology

In today’s K-12 educational climate, early childhood, math, science, special education, English as a Second Language (ESL), bilingual education, and dually certified teachers are in demand, with many opportunities and rewards for teachers with the necessary qualifications. If you have a major or minor in any of these areas, you may be qualified to enter a Masters of Teaching program that leads to NY State initial teacher certification, and begin a career in education that will allow you to have a meaningful impact on the experience of the next generation of students.

If you are already in an undergraduate program that leads to initial teacher certification, you may want to consider pursuing the state required Master of Science in Education degree in a curriculum that would supplement your initial certification areas, or you might also consider a masters program in school administration.

The Fordham Graduate School of Education (GSE) also offers advanced degree programs in school counseling, counseling psychology, school psychology and mental health counseling.

To assist you in finding out more about careers in education and counseling as well as our GSE academic programs and scholarship opportunities, the Office of Admissions will be holding several Online Information Sessions in October. These sessions will provide an opportunity for you to ask academic, admissions, student life and financial aid questions, as well as to “meet” selected faculty, current students and key administrators.
