Alumni in the News: Michael Malnic (’99) and 7th Graders Make Donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

Michael Malnic (GSE ’99) is a 7th grade history teacher at the Meadow Hill School in the Newburgh School District.  Inspired by his posting of a St. Jude calendar in his classroom, Michael and his 29 third-period students came together to collect enough money to donate a stereo system and a music gift card to the patients at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

“My students mentioned buying them a stereo system and a gift card to purchase music for it,” said Malnic. “The children were quick to mention to me something that I have always known: Music has no barriers, it is a universal language for all to enjoy.”
