Alumni Notes: Rashid Ferrod Davis (’03)

In the aftermath of President Obama’s State of the Union Address in February, in which he “shouted out” to Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-Tech) in Brooklyn, NY as a model for educational reform, P-Tech institutions have garnered new attention.

Rashid Ferrod Davis (M.S. Ed. in Administration and Supervision ’03) is the founding principal of P-Tech, which is a “turnaround” institution for grades 9 through 14 focusing on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, with partners including the New York City Department of Education, the New York City College of Technology, The City University of New York’s Early College Initiative, and IBM.
